August 19, 2020

All Sport Health and Fitness is Re-Opening Monday, August 24!

Over five months. Over 150 days. Over 3,600 hours. Over 216,000 minutes. That’s how long All Sport Health and Fitness has been closed. When we first received word that we had to close the doors to the club back in March, we could have never imagined we’d be closed for five months. That’s five months of missed workouts. Five months of missed kids programming. Five months of missed friendly greetings to and from members and guests. Five months that feels like a lifetime.

While we can’t give you back those five months, we’ve sure taken those 150+ days to improve our club, implement new protocols, and provide you with a fitness facility that you feel comfortable returning to. Not only did we put a hold on billing for membership accounts during our closure, but we’ve made tremendous changes and improvements to the facility to ensure that we have a safe re-opening for members, staff, and guests. We’ve installed new ventilation purifiers (REME HALO) and filters (MERV-13) to keep the air as clean as possible. We’re using electrostatic sprayers and cold foggers to deep clean and disinfect surfaces. We even have hospital grade sanitation wipes for cleaning equipment, hand sanitizer machines placed throughout the club, and a thorough wellness protocol. And with 80,000 square feet, there is plenty of room to socially distance during your workouts.

We’re so proud of our team and the improvements we’ve made to the facility. Our Maintenance Team has put a big focus on bringing you what will look and feel like a new club. Here’s a few highlights from the long list of upgrades:

  • There is new equipment in the Free Weight Room, including the Lifetime Fitness Cable Machine.
  • The Indoor Pool underwent major cleaning and repairing. From scrubbing tiles to pressure washing, the Team left no section untouched.
  • There is a new matted stretching area in the Cardio Room.
  • The Racquetball Courts have been sanded, patched, and re-painted.
  • Kids Club has been repainted, received new games and toys, and had a major cleaning.
  • The Cycle Studio has been repainted.
  • All the lights have been replaced.
  • All studio space has been cleaned, disinfected, and reorganized.

Thankfully, New York State has managed to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus. It certainly wasn’t easy, and the work is not done, but we did it. Most importantly, we did it together. We’ll keep doing our part to stop the spread by following strict protocols and guidelines from the CDC and NYS DOH all the while bringing back health and fitness routines to the people in our community.

It’s essential that we take a moment to say thank you to all the hardworking All Sport staff, our tremendous members, and supportive community.

Lastly, join all of us at All Sport in a big cheer – we’re opening on Monday, August 24!

New York State Senator Sue Serino Hosts Virtual Press Conference For Still-Shuttered Businesses in the Hudson Valley

On Thursday, August 13, 2020, New York State Senator Sue Serino hosted a virtual press conference, which included over 20 businesses in the Hudson Valley collectively urging the state to release health and safety guidelines to businesses awaiting clearance to re-open. All Sport Health and Fitness was grateful to be part of the virtual press conference, and extends great thanks to Senator Serino for putting this together.

During the conference, Kristi Redl of All Sport Health and Fitness expressed: “For weeks now we have been working with other fitness facilities to create a reopening plan that puts the health and safety of our members at the forefront. We have taken the adequate steps needed to make sure our facility adheres to all social distancing guidelines and have been constantly monitoring what facilities in other states are doing to make sure we are offering the most thought out plan. While we have been doing all that we can, the Governor and state have been radio silent. We are ready and willing to take whatever steps necessary, but now, New York State needs to do their part.”

COVID Stats : Fitness Facilities are Exceeding Expectations

Twenty-three states across the country have re-opened their health clubs and studios. The data we are receiving from those states overwhelmingly shows that club operators have done a tremendous job in ensuring a safe environment for their members to return to during the pandemic. All Sport’s preparation matches or exceeds that of the clubs in those 23 states and we need your help in adding New York to that list.

There was a recent study done by MXM (Medallia), the world’s leading experts on Operational Member Experience Management, to study COVID-19 and fitness facilities.
You will find the numbers of members reporting COVID-19 cases compared to those who have checked into a facility are nominal.

About MXM :
MXM was designed to collect real-time feedback from customers that would in turn allow owners and managers to make immediate improvements within their clubs.
The customer feedback drives both tactical improvements (i.e. acknowledging each response and addressing each issue as it comes in, as well as strategic, i.e. business process changes.)

The purpose is to turn customers’ thoughts and feelings into real data and insight to make every customer visit exceptional.

Survey Statistics and Intent :
The intent of this data is to highlight the current COVID trends inside fitness, health and wellness facilities since their respective re-opening dates while following CDC and best practice guidelines.

Out of 146 clubs within 23 states represented, there was an infection rate of .004% with
no cases reported as being transmitted at a fitness center.

Assumptions and Disclaimers :

  •  The key assumption is that each check-in is logged as one person. This is important since some membership systems register family check-ins as a single check-in. This means that every check-in is guaranteed to be at least one person but some check-in’s can be up to four people.
  • Positive numbers also include suspected but not confirmed cases as well. Suspected case assumption only applies to 1 fitness facility.
  • Any data on check-in’s where an average of daily check-in’s was given, the average number and multiplied it by 16 days. The assumption is that on average most fitness facilities that have opened have been opened for 16 days. Applies to 1 fitness facility.
  • When data was submitted and no fitness facility name could be discerned the name of the POC is used. This applies to 2 fitness e-mail/fitness facilities.
  • When data on COVID positive or suspected positive cases were submitted with no differentiation between cases amongst members or employees, all cases were placed into the members section. This applies to 1 fitness facility.

Welcome new General Manager, Dustin Blackwell! And other All Sport updates…

As All Sport Health and Fitness gears up for re-opening in a spruced up and super-safe space physically, there are noteworthy changes to announce regarding new additions and promotions within the All Sport family.
We’re happy to share the following with you!

DUSTIN BLACKWELL

Dustin joins All Sport Health & Fitness with over 25 years of club operations, personal training, programming and staff development experience. Dustin presents frequently at fitness conferences and serves as a Master Trainer for Matrix Fitness, American Counsel on Exercise, as well as the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

In his most recent role he served as the Personal Training Director at a seven-club chain around Baltimore, MD, where his focus was on the design and implementation of all fitness programming, and the training and professional development of 100 plus trainers and membership team members. Dustin is passionate about providing fitness professionals with the knowledge, skills and compassion needed to help them change the lives of those they serve.

In addition to Dustin joining the staff, we’re excited to share advancements for current staff members:

Sean Kammerer – Assistant General Manager
Sean joined the All Sport family in May 2018 as Director of Membership. Prior to that, he worked for the Hudson Valley Renegades for 10 years, where he was first hired as a seasonal intern and held various positions before being named Assistant General Manager in 2015.
Sean is a 2017 recipient of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Forty Under 40 Award, was named the New York-Penn League Male Executive of the Year in 2016, and is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Dutchess. Sean is involved with several local community organizations including the Dutchess County SPCA, Special Olympics NY, and United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region, and is a former board member of the American Cancer Society.
Sean is excited for his new role as Assistant General Manager, and will continue to oversee the Membership Department, placing a strong emphasis on enhancing the overall member experience.

Megan Wiley – Director of Operations
Not only can we congratulate Megan on becoming a mother in March, but also on her new role as Director of Operations.
Megan began her career here in 2005 as a teenage-shake-maker in the Fuel Cafe and returned in her mid twenties to introduce healthy options and subsequently become its Manager.
After many years as a yoga student, Megan completed her yoga teacher training at All Sport and soon after began running the Mind Body department. Since 2014, she has been overseeing not only the Cafe and Mind Body program, but also the renovation and development of studio spaces. Megan is excited to continue to grow the club with new and innovative ideas and assist with their optimal operation.

Danai Schnauber – Director of Virtual – Group Fitness / SGT
Danai joined All Sport in 2015 as a Les Mills BodyAttack Instructor. She has been a Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor and just prior to the pandemic, was promoted to Small Group Training Manager.
During this time of quarantine, virtual work-outs became an instant necessity to keep members strong, active and in-touch. Danai jumped on the virtual challenge immediately and  will now take the club to the next professional level of virtual classes. Congratulations, Danai!

Karen Feeley – Director of Kids Programming, Aquatics and Kids Club
Karen began her career in programming at the YMCA in 1982 as their Senior Program Director. In 2009, Karen carried her skills to All Sport Health & Fitness as she became the Director of Programming and Aquatics. She has directed, organized and grown our Camp Fit department by leaps and bounds to bring local families a safe, fun-filled summer. With her skills in children’s programming, she will now oversee our Kids Club department.
Karen looks forward to expanding All Sport children’s programming and will continue to offer our members and their children a fun, safe environment to grow and learn.

Julia McCarthy – Front Desk Supervisor
As we enter the club, we are warmly greeted by Julia McCarthy, who has been promoted to Front Desk Supervisor.
Julia joined All Sport in 2017 as a Receptionist and Child Care Provider in Kids Club.  Julia looks forward to her new role and aims to provide all members with the best possible club experience. Cheers, Julia!

Sandra Slokenbergs – Mind Body Supervisor
Congratulations to Sandra Slokenbergs, who has taken over Megan’s role as Mind Body Supervisor.  Sandra has been a Yoga Instructor since 2006 and at All Sport and Elevate since 2016, where she leads a variety of yoga classes and workshops to adults, teens, kids and families. When she’s not at All Sport, she can be found at Marist College, where she is an Adjunct Professor of Public Speaking. Additionally, Sandra is working closely with the Marketing department, where she contributes to various writing and promotional assignments.

We Need Your Help!

To our All Sport Community –

Yesterday the state announced that gyms and fitness centers would NOT be included in Phase 4.

We have spent the past few months creating guidelines for both members and staff while researching and following the latest news and guidance of local, state and national health officials.

All Sport Health & Fitness is fortunate to be such a large facility to adapt to these safety measures and we strongly believe that our plan for re-opening would allow us to open at significantly less risk than many other establishments that have re-opened.

Please visit our ‘Club Re-opening Guidelines’ on our Club Updates page here to see an outline of what we currently have in place.

See below for two very important petitions along with a form to reach Governor Cuomo.

We are asking you to help our voice be heard by reaching our governor through these platforms.

The safety of our members and staff is paramount and we would not re-open our doors if we felt it were not safe to do so. We wholeheartedly feel that, with your helpwe can make this change.

We can’t wait to have you back.

In health,

– All Sport Team

On behalf of the entire All Sport Family, we are excited to move forward with our plans to run Camp Fit, Summer 2020.

In light of the current pandemic, there will be some changes to align with current guidelines from the State of New York and Dutchess County Department of Health. We know that camp will look very different this year and we want to be as open and informative with our families.

We look forward to holding a safe camp program that will address the needs of our families, get our children out of the house, see their friends, and have some FUN!

Club Reopening Guidelines

Dear All Sport Health and Fitness Members,

We hope this letter finds you, your family and your friends as healthy as possible during this time.

We know the last few weeks, now months, have been nothing short of surreal. Never would we have thought we’d have to temporarily close the doors to our club, and inform our members not to come in for a workout or to socialize with their friends. Our club has been a staple in the community for over 40 years, and we’ve always looked forward to providing our community with a safe, welcoming place to go to.

Prior to the pandemic, our team welcomed a new Housekeeping and Maintenance Manager, Victor Pacheco, to overhaul and oversee this vital department. Victor has an abundance of experience, which includes working at one of the country’s most exclusive health clubs. In his short time with All Sport, Victor has taken the department leaps and bounds by implementing new practices and hiring additional staff to provide top notch care for our club.

During this time of mandated closure, the All Sport Housekeeping and Maintenance Team, along with other essential staff, have focused all of their energy on the important things that we can control. We remain dedicated to our mission of encouraging our community to ‘live well’.

As we prepare to open the doors to our club once again, and welcome our members and staff with open arms, we must stress that the health and safety of all who come to All Sport is our number one, ultimate priority.

***We ask that you please read the entirety of this memo, for we will have new guidelines that members and staff must abide by ***

3-Stage Plan

All Sport will open in a 3-Stage plan. The first (14) days will mark Stage-1. Although we are unsure of our official reopening date, please note that our rules and protocols are subject to change based on CDC guidelines. Stage-1 includes the following :

Hours of Operation
Indoor Club Hours : Monday – Friday : 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday : 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Outdoor Club Hours : Monday – Friday : 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday : 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Entering the Club:

Upon entering the club, each member and staff member will check-in at our staff-monitored ‘Wellness Station’ where individuals will sanitize their hands and privately have temperatures taken.

Working Together:

We will require each member and staff member to sign a form regarding our new policies upon entrance to the club. We simply want to be sure that all who enter are made aware of our new procedures.

Communicating these new policies will help us work together to maintain this safe space.

We will also collect e-mail addresses upon entrance. Gathering updated contact information will help reassure our team that members and staff are receiving the information they need.

Face Coverings & Masks:

Members and staff will be required to wear a mask at all times while in the club with the exception of vigorous training.

Physical Distancing:

To help us maintain a safe space, we will enforce maximum capacities based on room and studio sizes. These spaces will be monitored by All Sport staff at all times.

Our locker rooms will be used for restroom-use only and we ask that you arrive dressed in workout gear.

We do ask that members adhere to a 10-foot distance. We will be placing floor decals and other visual cues in select areas of the club to help guide you.

Sanitization:

Although we will have our Maintenance and Housekeeping staff continuing their expanded cleaning measures, we do ask that all members work together and assist in wiping down equipment before and after use.

We will provide equipment sanitization wipes throughout most areas of the club for members and staff to utilize.

Group Exercise and Small Group Training:

All Group Exercise and SGT classes will require class reservation with enrollment beginning (3) days prior to class.

We ask that you book your class online or call the club to reserve. We will also have an iPad station by our Front Desk to allow contactless booking and payment (SGT).

Class space will be limited and each studio will have floor decals to ensure a safe distance. Some classes will be held outside at the Outdoor Club.

We will continue our Live Virtual Workouts via Zoom for those who want to continue working out from the comfort of their own home.

Personal Training:

One-on-one training will be available by appointment only. We will have designated areas available for training that will allow for safe, physical distancing.

We ask that you make your appointment and payment by phone and/or iPad station by the Front Desk.

Fuel Cafe:

There will be limited items available at the Fuel Cafe with a designated smoothie pick-up table.

We will be removing counter items from the cafe for the protection of our members and staff (ie. Coffee Station) but will have a cafe attendant available to assist you.

We will have decals and signage in place to guide you with ordering and purchasing items.

We do ask that you pay by club account, card on file or credit card so we can protect our members and staff with contactless transactions.

Camp Fit:

Camp Fit will be available for purchase online only.

We are unsure of an exact start date but we will communicate this information as soon as we are able to do so.

The safety of our members and their children is priority and we will have additional procedures and protocols for Camp Fit that will follow.

Outdoor Club:

The Outdoor Club will hold a limited capacity due to the size of each pool and poolside-area. The Poolside Cafe will offer a limited menu. For the protection of our members, we will remove all counter condiments and water stations.

Tennis courts will be available but we do ask that you call in advance to reserve your court. This will help us monitor safe distancing practices among our members outside.

Stages 2 & 3:

Additional amenities will open as we enter Stage-2 and Stage-3. If there is an area of the club not mentioned above, it is for the protection of our members and staff.

If you have specific questions regarding certain areas of the club, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team : info@allsporthealthandfitness.com

We thank you for your patience as we work diligently behind the scenes to create a safe environment to return to.

It’s important that we all continue to play a part in stopping the spread of the virus as we begin to resume life outside the home. We look forward to welcoming our members back to the club when they feel comfortable doing so.

We’ve missed you all tremendously.

We will be in touch as we know more regarding re-opening dates and additional steps, regulations and protocols.

Until then, stay healthy, active and safe.

In good health,

All Sport Health and Fitness

Thank You To All

Dear All Sport Health and Fitness Members,

On behalf of the entire All Sport Team and Family, we want to give a big thank you to all the first responders who are on the front lines battling COVID-19. Our community is grateful for all the healthcare workers, grocery store personnel, delivery drivers, restaurants and food workers, and all who continue to work everyday to care for their fellow community members.

We’d also like to recognize all the people practicing social distancing to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus. These collective efforts are helping to keep our community safe and as healthy as possible.

A very special shout out to everyone tuning into our live virtual classes, and keeping up with their fitness workouts! It makes us so happy to see positive messages from our members and videos and pictures of them working out. We’re so proud of each and every one of you, and can’t wait to see you all again!

Until then, stay well and stay active.

In health,

The All Sport Team

Closed Until Further Notice

To comply with the mandates set by Governor Andrew Cuomo, All Sport Health and Fitness will not open on Monday, March 30, 2020 as originally planned. We will be continuing to communicate throughout the coming weeks, and will open as soon as the executive order is lifted. Please keep a look out for our e-mails, on our social media pages, and our website for updates.

March 18, 2020 – 12:00 PM, EST

Dear All Sport Health and Fitness Members,

We would like to thank each and every member who has offered their support and encouragement during this very challenging and difficult time. We would never have imagined we would have to close All Sport for any reason, but as a family owned business and leaders in our community, we must do our part to keep our members, staff, and community safe.

While the club will be closed, we are still responsible for many expenses, and none more important than the financial well-being of our employees. We have a dedicated, valued team of All Sport staff who always give their all to our members and guests so they can have the best experience possible at our club. Our staff is dependent on their employment at All Sport to support themselves and their families.

During this time, more than ever, we are dedicated to supporting both our members and our staff that make All Sport all the wonderful things that it is. Please know that all members will be receiving a credit for the value paid of dues from March 17, 2020 – March 22, 2020 during our mandated closure.

As of the March 23, 2020 billing cycle, all membership dues will be put on Freeze. This Freeze will abide by our normal Freeze policy, which is a minimal fee, and will allow All Sport the opportunity to help keep our employees supported financially during our closure.

The All Sport Membership Team will be available via phone Wednesday (3/18) from 12:00pm – 2:00pm, and Thursday (3/19) and Friday (3/20) from the hours 10:30am – 2:00pm to answer any questions you may have. We want to keep the communication open, so please reach out. We’re here for you.

Even though our beloved club is temporarily closed, our All Sport Team is working hard each day. We’re exploring ways to bring you virtual home workouts from our trainers and instructors, so you can continue to stay active during your time away from All Sport. Keep an eye on our social media pages and website for upcoming announcements and content. You will also have access to Les Mills On Demand classes. By clicking the link here, you will have access to 95 free workouts across eight categories available to you right now.

We can’t thank our members enough for their patience, understanding, and support during this very trying time. This mandated shutdown is new to all of us in the industry, and we’re diligently trying to work through it as quickly and thoughtfully as possible.

It’s truly been our honor to provide the community with a place to connect with like-minded people, stay healthy and active, and be a place that people have come to call their second home. Our members make us who we are, and we are extremely grateful to have each and every one of you.

In health,

Kim Redl-Lawrence, Kristi Redl, and the Redl Family

Dear Members,

To comply with the recent mandates set by Governor Andrew Cuomo for gyms in New York State to close at 8PM on Monday, March 16, 2020, All Sport will be closing the facility for the next two weeks. All Sport will be closed from Monday, March 16, 2020 until Monday, March 30, 2020, and we will be continuing to communicate throughout the coming weeks to provide updates as they become available.

Remaining healthy is an important part of our daily routine, and working out has incredible immune benefits. All Sport has been working to make resources available to our members during this time.

  • All members will have free access to the Les Mills On Demand platform. This platform is free to use, and will not collect any data from users. It has 95 workout options across 8 categories that are ready to play right now. The workouts will remain open and available as long as the Coronavirus situation continues to cause disruption. You may access the workouts here: https://watch.lesmillsondemand.com/at-home-workouts.

During these two weeks, the general public will not have access to the club; however, we will be taking this time to deep clean the facility top to bottom and finish larger projects to bring members and staff a brand new, hyper-clean club upon reopening. We will continue to abide by the 20 person limit within the building, and will closely monitor all who enter the All Sport during this time.

We encourage our community to continue following the recommendations put out by the CDC and local officials to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Please continue to keep a look out for e-mails from All Sport, check our social media pages, text alerts, and website for updates as we continue to monitor developments closely.

In health,

All Sport Health and Fitness

Dear All Sport Community,

We want to reassure you that the health and wellness of our All Sport community is our top priority. We are continuing to follow the developments, guidelines, and announcements regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) that are being made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and related federal and local government agencies.

We want you to know that All Sport is committed to providing our staff and members with a clean, maintained facility and we are confident in our additional cleaning measures and practices that have been in put in place. We want members and staff to feel comfortable continuing with their fitness regimen at this time. Movement and exercise are a great way to boost your immune system, and help you fight off illness and recovery faster should you fall sick.

We want to remind you of what All Sport is doing to keep the facility clean as well as additional practices:

What All Sport is doing:

  • Use of hospital-grade cleaning solution, specifically Virex, a powerful disinfectant and cleaner that kills a broad range of pathogens.
  • Continuing to monitor supply inventory to ensure we are above our normal threshold.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance Manger is conducting regular inspections of the facility.
  • Increased Housekeeping staff personnel to conduct even more frequent cleaning throughout the facility (i.e. regularly wiping down door handles, frequently touched surfaces, etc.)
  • Monitoring check-in volume and class sizes.
  • Increasing the number of disinfecting wipe containers throughout the club.
  • Cleaning of all cycle bikes after every spin class.
  • Disinfecting wipes are made available at the Reception Desk for members and staff to use.
  • Reminder signage has been posted to stress the important role we all play in keeping our facility clean.
  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer is available throughout the facility for easy access and convenient use in-between hand washes.
  • Disinfecting of equipment (i.e. yoga bolsters, straps, machines, etc.)
  • New procedure to do additional cleaning to loaner equipment (i.e. basketballs, racquetball sets, etc.).
  • Removal of all yoga blankets for use.
  • Removal of all loaner mats for use.
  • Continuing to follow updates and protocols suggested by the CDC, Department of Public Health, and other credible agencies to best ensure the safety of our members, staff, and guests.

What you can do for yourself and others:

  • Stay home if you are sick to help prevent the spread of germs and illnesses to others at your workplace or in public places. Make an appointment to see your doctor, or go to urgent care if you experience any symptoms.
  • Wash your hands using hot, soapy water for 20 seconds. This is the best way to control transmission in normal, healthy adults. To that end, we are reminding all members, staff, and guests to commit to washing their hands when arriving to the facility, after using the restroom, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or in your elbow.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose with unwashed hands.
  • Our members also serve as a critical component of keeping our facility clean, so please continue to wipe down your equipment with the gym wipes after every use.

We will update you with more details as they are available.

In health,

The All Sport Team
